By Gaby Tan
Studio sessions are in her home studio near Bright Hill MRT; on a wedding morning she comes to you with her own lights and mirror. Gaby does the makeup and the hair herself, with no team behind her, and between weddings she teaches lessons for beginners and for working artists.
Come here if
- You rarely wear makeup and you're nervous about the big day
- You want one artist for the shoot, the solemnisation and the wedding
Maybe not if
- You need several artists to get a big bridal party ready at once
What people say
How natural it looks
Brides who hardly wear makeup still looked like themselves in the wedding photos, only polished.
If you'd like something stronger she'll do that too, though the soft, clean look is what she's known for.
Weddings and events
Couples tend to book her for the pre-wedding shoot and the wedding day together, and some add the solemnisation as well.
She'll do the groom's and your mother's makeup on the day if you ask.
Calm when you are nervous
On the wedding morning she's one of the first vendors through the door, and she stays steady while the house rushes around you.
Leaving the choice to them
Brides who couldn't put the look into words handed it over, and got makeup and hair chosen to go with each gown.
She'll also tell you when something won't suit you, down to how many flowers go in your hair.
Starting with a trial
The wedding packages start with a studio trial, and what you say about it, even a change of hairstyle, gets carried into the real day.
The small extras
Weeks before, she sends a guide on getting your skin and hair ready for the day.
On the day you get a little touch-up bag with blotting paper and lipstick, and she'll lend you hair accessories to finish the look.
Booking, or turning up
She's at your door on time for a pre-dawn start, and some brides were ready early with spare time for photos.
