Papilla By Kim Lim
Treatment here is done by machine: after a scan and a wash, the therapist runs an electric pulse or radio waves over your scalp. Results come over months of regular visits, and after a trial a consultant plans and prices that course with you.
Come here if
- Your hair thinned after pregnancy or with age, and you can keep up regular visits
- Your scalp itches or gets oily soon after washing
What people say
What changed after a few visits
Once the sessions are regular, less hair comes out when you wash it, and baby hairs start along the hairline and parting.
Every so often the scalp scan is repeated and set beside your first one, so the new growth shows on screen.
How much selling to expect
Once you're on a course, the visits are about your scalp, and many regulars feel no pressure to add to it.
Some who booked an advertised trial were steered to a dearer treatment, then pressed to buy a large package.
When they said no, the staff turned cool.
The room
Treatments run in private rooms with their own sink, so you're washed without crossing the salon.
If no private room is free, you may be washed beside the storage drawers instead.

Common questions
The things people ask before booking
Q What happens on a first visit?
The therapist scans your scalp, puts on a mask, washes it with a head massage and then runs the machine treatment.
Q Does the treatment hurt?
The electric-pulse step can sting a little; the therapist will turn the machine down to what you can take, and the rest of the visit is comfortable.
Q How often will I need to come?
Early on, people come every week or two. Once the hair fall settles, many move to every three or four weeks to keep it there.
