The Fluxus House
The Fluxus House is one of three Singapore salons run by the same Japanese founder, and most people come for short cuts and bobs. Haircuts are priced by the stylist's grade, and none of them comes cheap.
The Fluxus House supports local artists and aspiring art students in Singapore by providing an art space inside the salon.

What people say
Careful, detailed work
Before cutting, they look at the shape of your head and the way your hair grows.
With thick hair, you'll sit through a long, careful thinning before the shape goes in.
Even after you've agreed the style, they keep checking with you as the cut goes on.
Styling it at home
On a first visit they'll often show you how to blow-dry the new cut or set your fringe yourself.
How long it lasts
It grows out without losing its shape.
Dry it yourself the next morning and it still looks the way it did in the chair.
They explain what they are doing
They'll even tell you what to watch out for if someone else trims it next time.
Regulars who stayed
When a stylist moved over from another salon, their clients came too.
Many now bring a husband or son to the same chair.
Gentle enough to doze off
A head massage comes with the wash, and your shoulders get one before the blow-dry.
Plenty of people are half asleep by the time the dryer comes on.
Coffee or tea arrives with a Ferrero Rocher on the side.
The room
From outside, people take it for a café or a gallery.
The art on the walls is by LASALLE and NAFA students.
The chairs sit well apart.
